Advantages of LASIK
If you have worn glasses or contact lenses for a long time, you may have wondered if LASIK (Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) surgery is a good choice for you. LASIK is a corrective alternative to glasses or contact lenses. Like corrective lenses, LASIK is a method for treating refractive conditions such as Myopia (nearsightedness), Hyperopia (farsightedness) and Astigmatisms. At Eye See, Dr. Wine provides the best pre and post operative exams and care.
Evaluation and Referral
LASIK surgery uses the latest advancements in technology to provide faster recovery times and precise results. At Eye See, we provide evaluations and referrals for patients interested in LASIK surgery. Our providers will perform a complete review of your patient history as well as a full assessment of your overall eye health and vision. A current exam is important in determining if you are a candidate for LASIK surgery. We check to see if there are any other factors that may affect your results with LASIK surgery. The history review enables our Optometrist to determine if your prescription is stable and if you are healthy enough to move forward with surgery.
Once the providers have performed the evaluation and determined that you are a good candidate for LASIK surgery, you will be given a referral to the LASIK Surgery Center. There, they will perform advanced diagnostic testing and will evaluate your eligibility for surgery prior to discussing the surgery options.
Post-Operative Care
Once your surgery is scheduled, we will schedule follow-up appointments for you. Typically, you will begin these follow-ups the day after surgery and continue at pre-arranged times over the following six months. After 1 year, a full exam is recommended to determine the long-term results of your procedure. Dr. Wine is experienced in working with patients pre- and post-operation and will answer any questions that you have along the way.
