“Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18)
Most of us in America have access to vision care when we need it. Chances are you have vision insurance that covers most of your costs for glasses or contacts, or you have the means necessary to purchase these if needed.
Don’t take that for granted.
It is estimated that 153 million people worldwide live with preventable blindness due to uncorrected refractive errors (World Health Organization). Many of these individuals will lose their livelihood, will be excluded from opportunities like receiving an education, and will endure a substandard quality of life. While a large number of these individuals live in underdeveloped countries, you would be surprised at the number of people here in Arizona who don’t have access to comprehensive eye care, or the funds needed to receive it.
That’s why we are committed to donating one pair of prescription glasses to an individual in need for every 2nd pair of glasses we sell in our Optical.
The recipients of these donations will either be 1) A senior citizen here in Arizona who desperately needs glasses but cannot afford them or 2) An individual in Malawi, Africa.
